Turmeric Milk

Here's one of our favorite warm winter drinks. The kids even love this drink. Drinking this right before you go to bed helps many people sleep better. And it's healthy, much better than hot chocolate. Although I will have to do a post on our homemade hot chocolate one of these days also.  It can be healthier then your store bought packages.

Start with, of course, fresh raw Jersey milk from our dairy:)

Add turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.

Next add your choice of sweetener - we choose local raw honey for ours - heat this up until warm.

While the milk is warming, get your glasses ready. I strain my husband's, as he doesn't like "floaties" in his milk. The kids drink it straight, as do I.

When the milk is warm (or hot) remove from stove and fill your glasses. You may top it off with a shot of homemade whipped cream if you like, find a comfy chair and enjoy!

Here's the recipe:

For a single serving you will need:

1 cup Raw Milk
¼ tsp Ground Turmeric
¼ tsp  Ground Ginger
½ tsp Ground Cinnamon
¼ tsp Ground Cloves

A spoon-full of honey or your choice of sweetener.

Place all of the above in a saucepan, and heat (on medium) until just warm, or your preference of temperature.

A shot of homemade whipped cream touches it off nicely. Didn't get a photo of that, sorry.
