Forged Items For Sale

Thumb-latch Norfolk Door Handle - This hand-forged decorative front door handle comes complete with two extra fancy bolts and interior latch assembly which utilizes an exterior strike plate and bolt on the reverse side of the door. By the early 1800s the steel industry had progressed to a point that flat steel plate became readily available and the two piece thumb-latch Norfolk style was created alongside the earlier one-piece forged Suffolk handle.

Post Plates - These T-shaped post plates are cut out and engraved with hot cut tools Kit built out of cut up pieces of auto coil springs forged and welded to a bar stock handle. He has further refined the design of these tools to help improve his engraving technique. The plates are cut out of ¼-inch x 3-inch flat steel and predrilled to accept a T-40 lag screw. The post plates may be paired and bolted together with extra fancy headed bolts four to eight inches in length. Plate measures 12 inches wide x 19 inches tall. Prices start at $175.00

Barn Door Pintle Hinges: Here is a set of barn door pintle hinges made to fit doors measuring 48-inches wide. The hinges are forged by hand from 1/4 inch by 4-inch flat steel using a 1¾-pound hammer as well as an 8-pound sledge hammer wielded by a striker for the heaviest part of the forging process. The ends are cut out with our hot-cut and forged four and three quarter inches wide before being recut with a decorative design and carefully hand-filed edge finished. The hinges taper from four inches wide to one inch near the end. The thickness varies from 1/8 inch up to 3/8ths of an inch. Six, 7/16-inch diameter holes are drilled on each hinge eight inches apart to accept our hand made nuts and bolts which are 2 3/4 inches long included in the price. Each hinge plate is punched and counter sunk to accept four T-40 timber lag screws, not included. All pieces are coated with semi-gloss clear coat to resist rust. These may be purchased direct from our store page.
