Dimensions - 7½ inches long X 1¾ inches wide x 5/32 inches thick. Overall length - 12½ inches. Law, Son & Grandson combined to build this hand-forged knife and hand-tooled case. This is a very well balanced "Bowie" knife complete with cross draw leather scabbard. Knife blade is forged from a worn out horseshoeing rasp used for hoof preparation in our blacksmith shop. Guard and metal pommel top were cut out and hand-filed from left over pieces of the same horse rasp used for the blade. The mahogany wood handle was turned by Kit’s father on his lathe. Right hand cross draw leather scabbard was stamped by my 11-year-old son with oversight from a retired, local saddle maker.
